I went to PG lakes to do some winter camping on the Family Day weekend. That's the first and last time my wife is going to be tenting in February lol. I stayed warm, but not her :sHa_sarcasticlol:
There was plenty of good ice. I fished the brook trout lake, but it was very slow. Iced one brookie and had a few other nibbles, but few and far between.

Out of curiosity, the stocking reports mention a few browns go in here. Has anyone got any browns out of this lake?

I hardly saw a soul. There was a derby on at Victor and Grande Cache lakes so that must have had something to do with it.

There was quite a bit of fresh snow so we got some good snowshoeing in.

Best fishing on PG lakes these days is right after the stocking truck leaves.

Since Jasper has become so expensive for camping, us poor Albertans are relegated to places like this.

Thanks for the update Salt. I lived in G. Cache for 6 years and fished PG a few times. I always found the best time for the Brookies was at first ice. 4 inches of ice in 5 feet of crystal clear water..... awesome time.
