I just moved here last summer and I'm wondering where a guy has to go to catch and keep walleyes in central Alberta? Any eyes in Buffalo Lake since Gull, Sylvan and Pine are out? Thanks.

Best thing you can do is get the regulations and then read them.

Buck Lake is the only place any where close to here where you can keep one over 43 cm. other then that you must go North of edmonton or south of cowtown.

Red Deer river south of the tolman bridge (by rumsey) all the way to Drum. It's the only place I tend to fish for them around here anymore (in the summer, I don't ice fish at all). Buffalo is really slow for them.

Wow I had never known Buffalo to have any Walleye huh.
Pigeon Lake has Draw tags available as a rule so you can keep two for the year you pic the slot size.

That was not ment as a negative just a wow! I began fishing Buffalo at age 8 and am 45 so I think thats 37 years I just never seen a wally come out nor have I taken one. So I have learned something I don't think I have ever even seen the regs referance a limit for the lake in my life time.

My Humble apology if it was take as an insult.

I must be mistaken. I will just let others give advice from now on *shrug*

Nope I like the advice I think I know a aouple holes that may produce with different tactics. I dont Know why Buff would not have them and you have struck a cord of intrest Gull and Sylvan always have and Parlabey creek I think comes from the Battle system.

In short I like the advice and being challenged to think about things. I have never taken a 20 + pound pike out of Buffalo either but I am sure they are there.

Thanks Gopherslayer

There's no Walleye in Buffalo. Not that i've ever caught, or anyone I know either. My husband caught a 11 pound Pike in the fall. My Dad has got a big one 20 lbs. 12oz., and has lost one bigger than that. So they are in there, but you don't catch them very often.

Gopherslayer do you ever have much success harvesting walleyes in this portion of the RDR? I would be interested in some more information, if you wouldn't mind sending me a PM. Thanks.
