Itching to get your boat in the water?
Here's an early fishing derby in the Upper Arrow Lake, for big rainbow and bull trout:
March Madness 1st Annual Fishing Derby

Thursday, 15 March 2012 - 6:00am The Nakusp Esso Centre is proud to announce the first Annual March Madness fishing derby on upper Arrow Lake March 16, 17 and 18th. There will be awesome prizes including an early bird prize draw for a custom made set of planner boards, valued at $150, for tickets purchased before February 25th, cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd heaviest fish, mystery weight fish prize, loads of door prizes, a 50 50 draw and MORE. The derby will benefit the Summit Lake ski hill, Nakusp's Nancy Green program and the Nakusp High School ski team. Get your boat gas at Esso for a chance to enter to win tickets for 2 box seats at a WHL Kootenay Ice hockey game. Sunday afternoon Esso will host a barbeque with free lunch for all derby contestants with prizes to be awarded. This event will be HUGE so don`t wait to get your tickets. Tickets are $35.00 per person.
