I have a few questions for Burnstick Lake
And I have already looked on alot of
Threads about this lake and now some info but here they are:

1. Would the best bait for Ice Fishing this lake be small glo jig tipped with a maggot?
2. Where is the best place on the lake to fish?
3. How deep is the best depth for fishing for the perch?

Thank You very much and much appreciated,

I have fished Burnstick a few times over the last couple winters. I have always found the larger schools of Perch in 45 to 50 FOW, at least from 9 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon..... not sure what goes on before or after these times. I'm sure they are at other depths also, but we always seem to gravitate to the tried and true.

As for the gear, you betcha on the small jig with magotts. As for colors, I have used yellow, orange, green, white & red.

As for the location.... I find 50 FOW just off the boat launch at the summer village. From this boat launch head out about 150 meters between your 10 and 11 o'clock. You can also get a bathometric (sp) map of this lake off the Anglers Atlas website which will be a big help when it comes to searching for depths.

I dont fish deeper than 25', moveing shallower as the light drops, topping out at abought 17'. try a tiny spoon, gets down quicker.I switch bait all the time as action slows on one,I switch to another.west out front of the village.

I was out last weekend. I would say around the 20 to 22 inch range.... don't think you would need an extension.

We were there yesterday off the summer village boat launch, the ice was 3 feet. Saw lots of schools of perch atou 18-30 FOW but mostly all 4-7 inches long and two pike that scared them away.

Managed to get 3@6" 1@9" 1@10" and of course released allot of the perch.

One thing that I thought was odd, I saw a Walleye on the camera. I didn't think that Burntstick had Walleye. Big guy too must have been about 36".

Yes there are walleye in there. I have caught several in there in the summer months. It was stocked many years ago.
