Might be a little early to be thinking about boating but I was wondering what is a good fish finder to buy? I would like to upgrade the one that came with my boat and really don't know much about these things.

How much you willing to spend? I think it comes down to preference both the big name brands are good.

Having owned 5 finders in the last 3 years, I learned 1 lesson PWR or wattage is the most important feature. PS want to buy a 500 watt or a 1200 watt or a 2400 watt fishfinder cheap? I would say go for the Lowrance HDS series at 30000 watts. What a difference it has made for me.
