I think the prevalent fish is small whitefish as I have seen acres of surface dimpling in the summer. There is also large perch, not plentiful, walleyes and pike also ling. I personnally have not had good luck there at all. I fish chin just to the east for slow but kinda steady pike as small as 20 in. up to a 42 in. a week ago. I use big smelts on bottom for pike amd salted minnows on a pickeral rig for walleyes and whites. Nothing great but the best eating pike in south alta. My .25 worths

Staffords fish are few and far between in the winter unless you can locate the pockets. The whitefish are by no means small, i have caught many over 5 lbs and 1 that was pushing 10 (28'' i seem to remember). I've fished off the dam in the winter for pike, never that many bites. I'd be hitting up the small weedy reservoirs for pike this time of winter, i always did good at all of them at the end of the season. Good summer lake but the draw down hurts it a bit. Park Lake by the provincial parks a good bet, chins better than stafford (more stable) if you're out that way.
