Lake Newell, open water

Was out at Little Ranier today some open water at the mouth and open spots around shore ,,,would not walk on the ice, there was about 30 trumpeter Swans and flocks of Pintails the Males had 7-8 inch sprigs on them was awesome to watch thru the spotting scope. thousands of geese most paired off and fighting for postions :fighting0030::fighting0030::fighting0030:on the islands.

I was on Reddelback yesterday, still lots of ice but not for long!

Wow that went quick, I was out last weekend and we were driving on the ice out in the bay north of kinbrook. You could see the ice go downhill throughout the day, in the morning it was ok by the time the sun went down the ice had started to leech. I suspected it would have been a little longer since there was 2 feet of ice.
