I used to use pork heart for walleye & perch. It seems to hold it's colour longer than beef heart. Way back when I liked the meat off of river clams for perch, cut into a small piece and could catch several fish before the meat was lost.

Sunday on Dillberry the fish were very aggressively attacking the lead weight 10" above the hook. If you can make a hook look like a lead weight, you will have a winner.

a year ago I saw a guy fishing from shore using what I thought were coloured marshmallows. After he pulled several Rainbows out I went to ask what he was using and they infact were ear plugs! He says they work great; they float and dont come of the hook very easily. Very interesting..

I have been meaning to try gell caplet omega three pills with fish oil in them. I figuge the gold coulor might work well for perch and whites and the scent could not hurt either. Thought of it a year ago but have yet to try it.

If you cant think of anything better to do with a perfectly good moose garlic sausage than stick it on a hook and chuck it in a river then you just give me a call. :)
In the summer- 6" pc of black tape folded over. Looks like a leach and works very well
In the tackle box I call it a roll of leaches lol

Just a heads up thats gonna get you in trouble , if a Fish and Wildlife officer were to come across that . Not allowed to use Game fish for bait , have fun proveing it you bought it at the grocery store , . Go get a bag of herring just as big if not bigger for about 6-8 bucks for 8 or 10 of them .
Dont get p issy with my answer just take my advise , after all your an adult and you dont want to take my advise is also your choice .

Ive used many differnt types of bugs as a kid like grass hoppers, big black flies off the window, moths, frogs, beetles etc.
One time when i was fishing at the Estivan spillway for walleye these to old boys like 70 ish were just hammering the walleye getting 2 at a time on the same pickeral rig, and here i am 50 yards away not getting a sniff, went over to talk to them and they were using walleye fins, they worked great.=]
