This March I had the privilege of visiting Mexico to spend time with my cousin and his family in Hermosillo in the state of Sonora Mexico. I was there for 10 days and on of those days we went to El Novillo, a reservoir about 2 hours from Hermosillo. There is a town called San Pedro de la Cueva close by, and our guide lived there. This was my first time fishing for bass, and it turned out great. I fished most of the day without getting a bite myself, but things worked out in the end.

Enjoy the pictures!

An old church that is partially submerged most of the time. Look close and you'll see the high water mark.

This guy is lucky! First (or second) deer this year is a beaut and then he catches this awesome bass his first time fishing for them. Not bad first. :)

Wait a minute, on further reflection before posting this I remember a 12" perch out of Cutbank when we were kids. Who caught that one? Me, or was that you too?

Thanks everyone, it was a great experience down there!

Garry, the perch at Cutbank was mine, and I think it was 11 3/4". I had waded out about hip deep in the lake and I remember stumbling through a bit of sunken brush on the way out of the water. Here's hoping we'll tie into some good ones on the 24th!

Yep, that's sounds about right now that you replay it. Sure wish they never died out there. Was a fun lake.
