I'm curious if anyone has had trouble finding factory ammo that their Tikka t3 liked? Mine is a 300wsm, and I cannot seem to get a nice tight group out of it. I've tried Barnes TSX's, Nosler Partitions, accubonds, and fusion. Has anyone else had this issue with their Tikka?

Mine (270wsm) has digested everything fairly well. And I only pay up to $30 a box.. ive never heard of issues getting t3's to group.

My T3 never really had any problems but I did find it loved Hornady 165gr.

When's the last time you checked your scope, and action screws?

My t3 in 223 puts Winchester white box, 3 shots inside a dime at 100 yards. I would definitely check your screws and scope as mentioned.

I've got 4 chambered in 270win, 243, 22-250, 223 and believe it or not they all just love the cheap Federal Power Shok blue box stuff. Didn't matter what weight either, they all shot extremely well. Less than 1" 5 shot groups at 100 yrds. Still prefer to handload though.

I shoot 180gr Interlocks in my short mag 3/4 group @ 100yds

I got a great deal on Federal .270Win 150gr round nose (very long bullet) ammo....
all Tikkas have a long throat, so this bullet almost touched the lands in my rifle....

I think that 1" at 200m is not bad for factory ammo in a factory rifle :)

My Tikka T3 300wsm likes the 165gr Fusion. Not overly impressed with it but it does the job. Wish I could find some Hornady ammo for it as all my other Tikkas like Hornady the best.

Thats something i haven't heard much of from a Tikka. my .223, .270 .308 and .270wsm factory ammo has seen excellent accuracy. .270 wsm shot the accubonds and corloks very well and the cheap heavy 140 gr winchester. I would try the heaviest factory bullet out there for your .300wsm work your way in. I'm thinking(oh boy) that with the velocity of your caliber heavy bullet for alittle better mid range stabilization.

I have a 30-06 and it loves fusion ammo.

My Tikka T3 LS 270WSM's both shot factory Winchester Supreme 140gr Accubonds very nicely. Now they shoot reloads.

As mentioned, check your scope out.

My Tikka t3 chambered in 270win shoots most factory ammo well but it like Federal Fusion 150gr the best. Very easy to get under an inch at 100m off bags.

I had a Tikka 338 Federal that shot about 3 inch groups with every factory load available. I sent it back to the distributor (Stoeger Canada) complete with targets ---they then had their gunsmith shoot it and confirmed my poor groups---they replaced the rifle and it shot well.
I have had discussions with a number of dealers, and my conclusion is that most Tikka's shoot well but certainly not all. I suggest you give your dealer a call, or call Stoeger Canada.

My 270wsm seems to like the winchester supreme elite 150gr I can easily get 1" groups at 100yds off the bench.

I have heard of a lot of people with Sako and Tikka's in 300 WSM that are having problems getting them to shoot. One of the guys changed to a 300 win mag and is now happy. We have found the WSM's to be very difficult to get to shoot good.

Let me summarize for you. Tikka T3s are not fussy:)

Have you tried a good cleaning? I don't own a Tikka but most people that own them seem to love them. I'd try a good cleaning and give the scope and mounts a once over, then if that don't work I'd send it in to tikka.

My tikka and Sakos all love cheap Federal ammo! They hate Winchester XP3s. I am good with that!

My buddy has one in 300wsm and it will shoot the 180 silver tips from winchester around 1-1.25" at 100yards. His gun is very light and jumps a lot at the muzzle when shooting off the bench. I have found in shooting my rem 300 ultra mag off the bench, that it seems to group better when I have a firm grip on the fore end instead of the traditional off hand on the butt stock. That goes for shootin of the bipod as well. Its worth a try in my mind. Cheers.

Both my Tikka's love Hornady ammo .. The 300WM gets a steady diet of 165 SST's and the new 22-250 is shooting tacks with 55 gr. SP and Vmax .

Mannnn....guns are sooooo strange...no wonder we call them girlie names ...like big bertha, Lady Woosum or miss 270...:scared0018:
We've found just the opposite with regards to the few WSM calibers we've been messing with here. I have an A-Bolt Stainless Browning that groups Win factory Supremes in 165 & 180's incredibly good. The Tikka's(270, 300wsm) all seem to like most of the factory stuff we use... I've done some handloading for one guy that wanted a little better than MOA for his 300WSM...just left the other one alone.(270wsm).....pretty consistantly shoots 3/4 " @ 100 yds with most ammo.
