new rifle

Just got my first big rifle today, (after buying a .22 remington for my 9 and 11 year olds).
A winchester model 70 300win mag with a nikon predator 3-9x40. Looks good and feels great have yet to shoot it but will keep you all informed.
Any tips on ammo, breaking in or care would be greatly appreciated.
