where can i buy warne rings for a sako trg-s which i assume would be the same as a sako 75/85? Does talley make a base and rings that will fit the sako. I tried looking online but couldn't find much.

Warne doesnt make them anymore. The original premier series from Warne were awesome - then they replaced them with the maxima series. These work okay too but werent machined from billet. You can still find the maxima series sometimes if you watch for them.

Talley does make mounts, but I cant understand why anyone would add bases to a rifle with integral bases.

Current production mounts to look at are Leupold, and Sako ringmounts. The ringmounts are a one piece mount not like the regular opti-locks you see for sale everywhere.

Western Gun Parts in Edmonton carries a full line of Warne rings and bases. I just bought some rimfire rings for my new Weatherby MarkXXII a couple weeks ago. They often have obscure parts.....it is what they do :)
