I have a 243AI built on a savage action with 14 twist barrel on order and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this or a similar setup? Any suggestions on powder? With the 14 twist I will be limited to lighter bullets but that is ok as I wanted a short to mid range coyote gun. I don't keep hides so that's not concern.
Thanks wally338

You will be limited to bullets of 75 grains and lighter. Powders like Varget, 4320, 4064, 748, RL17, etc. will all be good performers. You should be able to use 6mm Remington data for similar performance. Leeper

Thanks leeper. The barrel is a Rob Maclennan. I was hoping to shoot 58gr or 65gr pills at moderate velocities my reason for going AI was to reduce brass stretch not ultra velocity. I opted for the Richards Microfit wildcat style stock.

Good choice on the stock. I have used one on a project before and they are super comfortable.

I have a 13.75 twist on my 243 and use 4064 & Varget with good success on all bullet weights to 70 gr.

Thanks fellas picked up a 5 pounder of Varget and RL15. While I was there Darren showed me a Sightron scope looks to be a solid piece and good value so ordered a 6-24x50 with mildots. As far as bullets I was thinking of using Hornady or Sierra.
