Ok so as you know im having issues with my mossberg 702 plinkster. Due to these issues I have decided that I need a new .22. This is where my new problem has arised. With all the different .22's out there how do I decide what I want. I know I dont want a single shot lol. As fas as bolt versus semi versus lever it doesnt really matter to me. Cant beat the reliability of a bolt, but can beat the speed on the semi for runnin gophers, as for the lever there is only one that I want and that is the browning bl22 but man that thing is pricey lmao. So how does a guy go and "choose" which one???

If you want a really good bolt action 22lr then look at the savage mark2 with accutrigger. I've got the 22 Lr and the 22mag both savages and both accurate as heck as for a semi auto either a ruger 10/22 or rem 597

Can't go wrong with a CZ bolt action 452/455 Lux:

Or if your budget is smaller - the CZ 513 Basic:

And for semi-auto - the CZ 512:

The CZ's are tier above your standard Ruger 10/22's or Savage 64's...

ruger 10/22 standards are (personally) the best 22 out there for cheap 22s

With a CZ you won't need follow up shots as they are running away.:fighting0030:

i have the ruger 10/22 and i have no complaints good durable ive put probably 10,000 plus through and she still hits bang on at 50 yards. haven't shot anything else in large quantity, but if your looking for quality and durablity with speed and good accuracy and fairly cheap plus the parts you can buy to do what you want are plentyful.

A far better quality rifle than a new Savage.

That CIL will never go down in price. I own one as well as a Brno model 2. Both are very good rifles.

Have a look at the henry line up of lever rimfires...ive had a bunch and still have 2....great little rifles for a fair bit less than the browning.

In a bolt go with a CZ hands down....i have a 455 lux in .22 and a 452 varmint in 17 HMR and they are damn near impossible to beat for the money IMO

Fast follow ups with the semi autos are a moot point when you buy a nice bolt gun and stop missing that first shot.

Love my 10/22, I haven't yet but if you want something to customize there are lots of extra goodies for the ruger. Got mine for 340$ laminated target barrel. It's had maybe 4000 rounds through it no jams for fail to fires. Mines dead on at 75 yards.

It's all relative, what would be considered good accuracy for a factory 10/22, would be considered sub standard for a good bolt action rifle. My Volquartsen will easily out shoot a factory 10/22, but it still won't keep up with my Anschutz 54s, even though both are high dollar rifles.

If I had your money i would burn mine and buy 3 of each gun.

If you want a semi, I say go with a Ruger 10/22. Huge parts and accessories market if you decide to trick it out to your personal taste...

As far as bolts go, its hard to go wrong with a Savage Mk II, I don't personally have a bolt .22lr, but I really like the BV model with heavy barrel and laminate stock.

Decisions, decisions...Good luck!
