I was talking to a gentleman the other day who sells Baikal shotguns, and was impressed with what he had to say about their reliability. I am wondering if anybody out there has had any experience with them? I am thinking of getting a MP 153 autoloader, but have never actually had my hands on one. What are your thoughts? Thanks for helping me out, I really appreciate it. Have a great weekend everyone! PS, if you happen to see this same thread on the fishing column, just chalk it up to old age, and cabin fever. I not thinking straight.:sign0161:

If you go to You tube and look up the 153 there is vid there of a guy that puts the 153 through an amazing torture test, results speak for themselves. FS

I’d really like to hear from owners on how they stand up to that kind of torture, heavy shooting and just general abuse of the firearm.

The one Baikal I have is built like Soviet tractor, pretty crude.

Simple Russian thinking, nothing fancy, some good reviews and some bad ones from what I've seen on them. The ones that work are great, the ones that don't, they hate. Can say that for any autoloader, Baikal to Benelli. Remington was distributing them for a while, they got out of them. An AK they are not, but, they go bang. Seem to be in about the same class as the Stoeger 2000,
some have issues, some don't, when they have issues, they are usually really bad.

Seems the Mossberg 930 is one of the best values in an autoloading shotgun.

I read somewhere that either the the 930 or the 935 will not shoot 2 3/4 target loads

I have two and they work great. I think I paid $300 per gun a few years ago. Nothing pretty to look at but when my friends xtrema is jamming and I am still shooting I am happy. I don't put through a huge amount of shells and simply give it a good cleaning once a year and no problems.
