Hey everybody, I'm new to Alberta and love to fish. I decided to fish the North Saskatchewan River next weekend, so I need to know all the rules. I live in Fort Saskatchewan. Can kids go fishing by themselves? Are there perch in the river? Can I eat fish out of the river?

Thank you,,

No barbs, I wouldn't eat the fish and I'm pretty positive there's no perch either. Walleye, pike, sauger, mooneye, goldeye, sturgeon, burbot and various suckers can be caught in the NSR..

Don't eat anything from that river, I haven't fished here in the fort much but I've heard under the bridge is supposed to be pretty good.
