Swichting barrels need help

Would I be able to take a 300 win mag barrel from a sako 85 and chane out the barrel on my 7mm with it

Is your rifle also a Sako, or a brand that uses the same thread diameter and pitch on the barrel threads as the Sako 85? If so, this could be done quite easily, as long as the headspace is checked, and adjusted as necessary. As well, unless the barrel contour is the same, some bedding or barrel channel modification may be required.

Should be able to do it no problem. Why are you changing from 7mm to a 300?

As mentioned, its the same action size for a m85 Sako or m75 action so it will work...get headspace checked by gunsmith.

I have a 25-06 barrel new off a m75 rifle and asked Sako this question last year.
