Where do you live and how far are you willing to drive?

I live south of Edmonton. Mapquest says 7 hours from Peace River. I can do that.

Phone the Wainwright wildlife society as they have blinds set up and take in tours. Google the name and you should be able to find the contact info.

Thanks, I'm booked to sit in their blind for Saturday morning, but Laurence has told me the bird numbers are way down this year on that Lek and there is a chance we might not see any, so I'm trying to find a more promising location.

Numbers are done for sure as I have surveyed 25ish leks and most are below last year and quite a bit down from a few years ago. The crappy springs we keep having in this part of the province have been tough on the birds. Although last time I looked at their lek there was about 6-8 males (20+ in 2009) and they can still put on a show. Hopefully the wind is down and the weather is nice and you have a good morning!

The more you leave them alone, the better they will do. No one is allowed near a sage grouse lek for a reason.

Contact Lake Land College in Vermillion, Fish and wildlife program and the Parks and Rec programs go and watch every year. Stu Heard, used to be program director not sure if he still is.
