Fifth Wheel Hitch-SOLD!!!!

Hi! We are selling an older DSP fifth wheel hitch that we got suckered into buying as it will not fit our truck which is a short box.:mad3: Please check out my ad on Kijiji for more info and pictures.

why wouldn't it fit your truck, you should only need some rails and your good to go..

Some hitches are meant for long boxes, I guess. The hitch place said it could not legally be installed in our shortbox as it would be in the wrong position in relation to the rear axle. We pretty much had to take them at their word as this is what they do for a living!

I have that exact hitch in a short box (6.5' box) and so do several people I know......Not sure what the issue is?

I am not sure either...They explained it and it made sense but we know nothing about how those hitches have to be installed. They said it could not be installed legally. We were in a bind. They sold us another used one. Didn't have much choice as we had to go and pick up the trailer we bought! FYI, it was Truck Effects in High River in case that means anything to anyone. They have done other things for us and we never had any issues...:confused:

I just updated my Kijiji ad to reflect the information passed along to me here. By the way,the guy who sold us the hitch never answered any of my calls or emails after we bought it. This tells me something about what kind of guy he is.

Doesn't ANYONE want this thing?? According to previous posters, it WILL fit a short box truck! We want it outta here! It is too big for a paperweight...:)
