g5 broad heads

I bought some g5 85 grain broad heads and I cant seem to get a edge on them I want them to be sharp . I went to there web site and seen there vidio and did what they said if any thing they got worse ,even tryed a wet stone no luck any Ideas .

Send them to me ;) Actually, maybe a felt wheel & a green chrome bar might be the ticket.

Talk to a budy and he said to try a ceramic stone but try and find one milarms are sapost to carey them .If no success Ill be in touch thanks for the reply

Are them g5 monatec heads? If they are i had the same problem.I tried every thing.:mad2: :mad3: I still got some so if any of them things work please post how.Cuz there not cheap.Thanks

do they have to be sharpened right away or after use?

As far as I know, they're good to go out of the package.

the ones I got got sure were not when you can run your fingure along the edge and not make a mark . You should be able to shave with them I might go back to my vortex*. The montexs as for sharpening Im not inpressed to thik of blade to get a good edge

Cooter were the heads black or sliver? If they were black then they are designed for practice.

Good video but they just don`t seem to get a razor sharp edge no matter what i guy does.Know what i mean cooter?

I was going to try them...but I'll stick with my steelforce Titaniums, thanks for the info!

I have shot G5 montec for years. You will never get them, nor any of the other 1 pc 3 bladebroad heads as sharp as replaceable blade heads due to the angle of the blade when sharpening them on a flat stone. Surgically sharp blades are sharpened at a higher angle making them sharper. They also loose and edge quicker.

I'll trade the very slight difference in sharpness for the benefits of a cut on impact, durability and simple nothing to go wrong design of the montec. I have killed well over 30 animals icluding moose and elk with the montecs. Everyone a pass through, no failures and 5 animals on one head I kept resharpening before I finally lost it.

And I'm not sponsored by them, although I'd love to be and thought I was going to be for a while.

Hey wctbowteck there the silver and jaybull I seen the same video. Tonight after work before I worked on them some more ,I thought I would see how they group there suppose to be feild point accurret NOT,,,,,,, My vortex are going back on and g5 is going to get a email on what I think of there broadhead. The only reson I went to them was for bears last year I had an arrow kick up because of all the hair, still killed the bear good . O well back to old fathfulls

I use the finest wet sandpaper(600?) on a hard flat surface. Easy to sharpen and definately sharper than new.

I only use them once and then turn them into target broadheads so i haven't run into this problem.I really like the g5 and can't see myself using anything else.They have zipped through everything i have shot with them.

I use a very fine japanese water stone for sharpening mine...
