I'd be patient and wait for his dad to come to the bait. IMHO, I don't think you'll be happy with this one. That melon looks a bit on the smaller side. Definitely not Pope and Young.:thinking-006:

Its Super cool nice guys like you who are ruining a fine forum.

You KNOW thats a great bear, he's taller than the barrell, so keep your negative comments to yourself.

I think the comments were a little bit "tongue in cheek" or sarcastic...:)

Wholly, tough crowd. My wife's cousin got this guy last year. He said that when it came to the bait under his stand, it looked like a steer! There was no thought required! With the price of taxidermy lately, all I was saying is that you should make sure you're happy with your trophy before you drop the hammer. Best of luck to you, have fun and shoot straight! :)

beauty of a bear no matter how you harvest him. Hopefully he comes in do light hours. Seen one while I was bow hunting elk up around spirit river last year that was around that size couldn't get up on him tho. He was In the the middle of a oat crop

Well kinda tough to get a bear with a pack of wolves in. Sat the other night for the project with a buddy and we didn't even get seated when a pack moved in. Howling all around we managed to dump a silver wolf with a rifle. Hopefully that will move them on and back to bears.

Cool! How many were there and how close were they?

They were pretty close all around us. We thought we were gonna get two when they came looking for the dead wolf just didn't show up in thick bush. There were 6 anyway. U could hear them whining behind us. Saw a huge white one last week in the area but no gun.

Whacked a big white one last night at my stand ......skirted around my bait and poked him though the brush .......

I don't know Wile E...he'd be close to Pope. I've arrowed quite a few, and videod quite a few and once their back is above the 45 gallon drum it's worth taking a closer look. If he's not Pope, he'll be close.....unless you were being sarcastic...stick him either way Alberta'sGod'sCountry!

Congrats on the Wolf! That's way tougher to get than a bear IMHO. Got lot's of time for the bear yet.
