lol, twenty year old tech making its way to the public and sold as new. I got to play with the jet version in like 95. very neat kit. lol, the fish will never hear you coming. they do make bigger versions just not for the public. I think I have seen a 115hp like that with a prop. MFE is unlightly to be of much benefit unless you find your self in a real emergency or in a war zone. in 30 odd years of fishing getting gas and oil has never been a major issue. the 7p 's have always saved the hassle some encounter. (prior preparation and planning prevent pi** poor performance ). I agree very cool kit.

Here is another article..its just funny. Last year I accidently ran a tank of gas on my boat mixed with about a 20% diesel ratio ( long story) any way my 115 e-tec ran great in ut with no ill effects...so when I seen this I kind chuckled...

I like the look of them!! The technology would seldom be used by anyone in Canada though.

no doubt, not following the 7p's can be costly. I learned from the mistakes of my old man. we had a very similar issue many moons ago so we dumped a pint of oil for every five gallons of diesl the dock attendant pumped in the tanks. then used a transfer pump to mix the good tank of gas with the dirty tank, boat smoked bad for a few weeks but no issues. if I remember it was only ten gallons in 500 gas.

I was at the 15 L of diesel in 65 L of gas. There was seriously no smoke, it ran great, just smelled a bit different. I followed up with a fresh tank of clean gas to flush everything out. Definitely do no reccomend this....but the motor is running still strong. Just had it in for its first scheduled service (1 every 3 years) and everything checked out, just new plugs and leg oil.

Correct me if Im wrong but I believe, the 55hp mfe is @ $15 000. Can't imagine what a larger hp one would cost! Ouch!

Close Stu....actually it's around $24,000 for the prop and $30,000 for the jet version.......peanuts! (for the US Military)
