Well, I've been working out along some nice trout streams the past month and yesterday i was witness to one of the first big hatches of the year. Stones and midges were on the surface and i saw plenty of big trout and whitefish getting their fill. Its one of the spots that opens to angling fairly soon, i know where I'll be the first days i get off. As of yesterday I'm sick of ice fishing and ready to get out the 4 weight and some dry flies. Lots of ducks, geese, and even a few eagles showing up. Looks like spring is finally approaching.
I'm sure I'm not the only one itching to get the fly rods out.
