Ice at spray

Is the ice at spray off yet and if it's not is it still safe

It isnt off. It isnt safe. It is opening up and cracking along the shores really bad. I checked out a lot of the commonly used spots yesterday. It is pretty sketchy ice.

Spray is open at the front end but the rest is still frozen but starting to melt around the edges, we just did the loop from Barrier around Kananaskis past Spray down into Canmore. Barrier is open on the far end where the river comes in. Upper K is frozen solid lower K has some open water.

Any ice in SA will not be safe this time of year. With this weather we have been having it shouldn't take long for the ice to come off of Spray totally. But the Upper K always seems to take longer. Must be at a higher elevation. I will bring my GPS next time I am up there and see just how much higher it is.
