Small Fishing boats

Hey, since I will be able to drive soon I'm thinking of getting my own boat. Just a small fishing boat with a decent engine that will get me across most Albertan lakes. Any ideas? Maybe something similar to a Jon boat. I don't really have tons of money so I'm looking for like the cheapest possible thing lol.

Look for a used 12' aluminium.

If you are wanting to fish lakes I would look at some sort of v hull over a jon boat.

You could probably find something older in the 14-16 foot size in a fiberglass boat. I have seen a few online with 30-50hp motors for around the $600-800 range. Just keep an eye out on kijiji and you should be able to find something decent as a starter boat.

x2...Had a 12 footer, 6 hp, awesome fun, catch just as many fish as the big boys, always brings a smile to my face as I see one fishing the same area as me. But I am quite happy with the comfort I have now...
