I just recently purchased a 16 foot boat with a 60/40 jet motor on it. We are planning on making some trips down to the South Sask River this year for Sturgeon, but not really sure where there is a good place to launch. We are pulling the boat with a 2wd escape, so I am worried about getting in and out safely. Any info on potential launching sites and there condition would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance....:sHa_shakeshout:

With a 2 wheel drive your limited where you can launch safely. There are 2 cement boat launch in the city of Med Hat. Other then that its launching off gravel bars or threw the mud. After run off the mud can get deep. You will need a 4x4 to be able to launch anywhere at the forks or at Sandy Point for a month after high water is over.

Echo Dale regional park has a nice launch, and it's not that far to the Rattlesnake hole. Echo Dale is just outside of Med. hat.

Dont try any of the sandy trails near the forks. They may look inviting but you will be up to your axels in no time.

Try the launch @ Sandy Point campground where the SSR crosses under Hwy 41 about an hour north of The Hat.
