View Full Version : Nice lake trout today

Today BeeGuy and I went out in his canoe and went trout fishing. He caught a sucker and 3 trout. I caught a rainbow and a really nice laker. It was my personal best lake trout. It weighed in at just a hair under 4 pounds and was 23 inches.

i am guessing this fish was caught in saskatchewan.. not sure of any lakes in Alberta opened at this time of year with lakers..

No this one is open all year lake trout possession is 3. Nice average fish for the lake.

nice!!!, not sure where that is?, we did pretty good at abraham the other day, took our pontoon boats and anchored to the ice and jiged, caught five & buddy got 12, 20-65 feet,all small... the biggest about 4, lost alot.... they were hitting light, no big guys like we were looking for they seemed to have moved away from were we were fishing when the ice was on...

the worst part is the wind...was thinking they would be in shallow by now, but they dont seem to be!

how was the wind at abraham,seems every time i go it's blowing like a bugger anyhow nice fish. did you happen to see if there was still ice at the cline?or did you not venture down that way.oops didn't see above post sorry:angry3:

was there last week, lots of ice....is likely still unfishable, the dam is pretty low as well...

congrats guys! Pretty sure I've seen that paint on photo's before, never fished the paint myself yet. BG we should get out there, I got on days off Wed-->Sat
