Sad ending to Broder buck story

The moral of the story is to make sure you have a will. It's really too bad that he felt the need to sell the mount, now because of sibling squabbling, that buck is in some rich suit dummys trophy room in another country. I'll bet the grandkids would have liked to had it on their wall to admire their granddads deer. I'll bet old Ed's suit is pretty rumpled these days from rolling over in his grave.

Why would the guy be a rich dummy? Sure that's a stack of cash to pay for a deer head, but if the chq clears. I think the dummy is the guy that sold something he promised his father he would never sell.

I'm also not exactly sure why it would be the courts fault that this turned out this way. The court would only be invovled at the request of the siblings.

Mistake # 1, grandpa didnt have a will or tell all of them his wish for the antlers. Mistake # 2, oldest son should have had the antlers appraised the year his dad died, paid out the siblings their share and then he would have owned it forever. Too bad they wasted all those years fighting. I wonder if those antlers will ever get back to a place like the Provincial Museum.

Im sure Bass pro or Cabelas have tried to pay twice that to get it...They like to buy up the big heads.

Its to bad about the family feuds.

I,m sure the head is being honored at its present location...Its a world record! The animal grew the antlers. It doesn't matter where they are, they are doing that they do...Drop jaws....

Just curious did he have a permit to sell deer. If not it should have been declared stolen and would by law have to be returned. Maybe i missed something I know it was in court for quite a while.

Problem is it's Stateside.
Broder lost all credibility about wanting to keep the head for any reason but profit when he sold it, against his dying father's wishes , I might add.
To end the family feud he should have donated it to the B+C museum, or the Glenbow, if in fact he wanted to remember his father .

He's lucky he wasnt my brother. In light of what was going on, selling that head would have been the biggest mistake of his life. A loss of family heritage of an unbelievable magnitude. What a loser.

People have to blame someone, rather than taking responsibility for their own actions. The scumbag stole from his siblings.

This story has little to do with antlers and its all about the cash. If it was a old car or what ever the son would have done the same thing and sold it. Sad story!
