FYI.
For those who uses the Superstore smelts, the recent batch size is noticeably larger. The average size is above 11 cm. and 2 lbs for $8.99 is a pretty fair deal.

I've only been to the superstore close to my place. Look in the frozen seafood section.

How do you find their catch ratio compares to minnows?

as far as i know they sell them in all the superstores. i prefer them to minnows and so do the pike on the nsr. they also sell them fresh which stay on the hook longer. both are a good deal

We have a lot of waters in the south that don't allow "baitfish" (minnows). Therefore we have no choice but to fish with smelts, herring and anchovies if we want to use bait.
