I am planning to make my own walleye harness rigs. What blade size, type and colour do you recommend for Alberta lakes?

I use mostly Colorodo #4 size blades.

I use size 4 and 5 most of the time, but I do use size 6 as well. I use holographic style blades the most, rather than using a bunch of different colors, I vary the style and size of blade more. I use colorado, dakota, and hatchet or tomahawk blades. I like to use the quick release style clevis blade holder rather than the fixed metal clevis, it allows you to changes style of blade quickly. What color to use will probably vary with as many people that you ask, but I normally use silvers when it's sunny and orange/chartreuse when it's cloudy or when fishing stained water. IMO the fish "feel" the vibration of your blade long before they see it which is why I vary style of blade more than color.

One of my favorites is the smillee blades
