Well today Ogre and I went to 'lake q' - thats right lake x guys, theres a new guy in town.
The fishing was fairly steady from noon until 4 with double digit results.
All pike were around 2-3lbs I'd guesstimate.
Hooked 4 of them dirty today, must've been headbutting my spoons, as a few were hooked top of head near eyes, and 1 under (I think the under is the one in the photo, not sure though)
Also - wanted to give an honorable mention to the spoons I bought which are on sale at the fishin' hole. Forget the name of them, but they worked great. Going in tomorrow to load up on them... I'll update the name than. Red/white and 5'o'diamonds worked well.
Heres a couple photos :)
Found a tangled mess for the first shot - it has since been chopped up and disposed of in my garbage can.
Second shot is one of the pike - got a quick couple photo's and released this one (and ALL fish caught today). Third shot is a quick headshot of the same fish.
Enjoy

That spoon came out of the package at noon today.... landed 11, lost 4, and bites/followers on nearly every cast. Was not the ordinary len thompsons, or what not.
I tossed a lenny and the fish weren't having it. These spoons have exceptional action, jumping all around. WAs running them on a swivel so they were jumping and diving around nicely. I picked up 3 of them for 5$ of various sizes, all of which had equal action :)

Also forgot to say - found 2 of those 'gel fish hooks' the visual simulator ones??? don't know what they are called... one on some line in the reeds, so I waded out and pulled it out, and another on the bottom. Unfortunately still barbed. They were removed from the water, one was in really rough shape, and the other was fine and slimy. Steel leaders on both, which I pocketed.

strong knots will work wonders :)
I have mines hanging off a swivel on some beefy braid... might be 20lb :) nothings breaking that, not even pike teeth for now :) my new pike rod will be a different story. In under a year, I'm at 2 spinning rods, 2 ice rods, 2 fly rods, and 2 tip ups :)

Thanks wayne, as I was spreading ones jaw, it jumped down and almost stole my rod... that would have been terrible. I would have baught a sexy stick to replace the ugly thing.
I Welcome all to do the '2012 fish caught tally'. No bragging rights, just a cool way to keep track :)

Slivers, I know you're practicing for your trip but you have been hanging with Mr. :bad_boys_20: Christie too much. Dust of the fly rod and lets go get some fish with scales.

But. but. but...
According to some, taking all the big fish makes room for more big fish?
Sorry, just feeling a little sarcastic.
