When ol' BobLoblaw says, "Do ya wanna fish one more spot?", you should always say, "Yes!!!"
Then you won't miss out on the bigguns!:)

Here's the story...
I worked all night, then met up with Silverdoctor for an early morning assault on the Bow River. First spot we fished: zip, zilch, nada; not even a hit. We drove to another section of the river.
Lots of these guys around...

http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/8754/p5040265.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/715/p5040265.jpg/)

Wasn't long before the good doctor was hooked up with the first of many whitefish...

http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/9744/p5040266.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/338/p5040266.jpg/)

I even managed a couple whities & a small brown trout...

http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/2958/p5040322.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/831/p5040322.jpg/)

http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/640/p5040324.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/706/p5040324.jpg/)

When the action slowed down, SD decided to call it a day; I suggested hitting one more spot on the way home, but apparently SD has adult-type responsibilities to attend to- poor fella!:snapoutofit:
I was on my own for the last/best leg of the journey; I really would rather have shared the fun, my Newfie brudder.
I fished a section that usually yields a few good fish, and fished it hard. All I managed to do was sacrifice about 5 nymphs to the fishing gods. Then I walked downriver a ways to another fave run- usually good for a bunch of whitefish, but I've pulled a few decent trout outta there as well. This time, I hooked a solid fish on my second cast. I saw a really good brown trout roll on the surface a few seconds later, & the fight was on! With 8lb tippet, I put the boots to him as hard as I dared, but still had to follow him a long ways downstream before slipping the net under this 24" beauty...

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1199/p5040274c.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/16/p5040274c.jpg/)

He gave a heckuva battle, so I took some extra time to make sure this ol' warrior swam away strong.:sHa_shakeshout:

Two casts later, my indicator hesitated & I set the hook; another nice brown erupted from the water like a frickin' tarpon! Yee-haw! Another good jump & another chase downriver; didn't have to go quite as far this time. Soon, this 19" brown was in the net...

http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/1276/p5040296.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/195/p5040296.jpg/)

Nice coloration on this specimen...

http://img859.imageshack.us/img859/4576/p5040292.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/859/p5040292.jpg/)

One last look, then he was gone like a shot...

http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/1060/p5040308.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/546/p5040308.jpg/)

Two casts later, I brought a whitefish to hand. Another 4-5 casts, and another hit, another chase, another good brown trout; 21 inches of fun this time...

http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/4779/p5040314.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/718/p5040314.jpg/)

http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/5883/p5040315.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/839/p5040315.jpg/)

This guy was hefty; very deep-bodied...

http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/8580/p5040316.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/834/p5040316.jpg/)

Just like the others, revived & released...

http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/2158/p5040318.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/835/p5040318.jpg/)

The action slowed right down after that; just one more whitefish to hand.
Being in the right place at the right time sure paid off, though! Wish you coulda stuck around to share the fun, Silverdoctor; it was a blast...:sHa_shakeshout:
Next time, my friend; next time...

Beautiful pictures, as always. One of these times I should try and pry myself off the Trunk Road and come downstream to fish for some big-boy trout. For now I think I'll stick with the cutts and bulls.

I'll be wearing my lucky hat, Wayne; that red Rapala hat is full of good karma & hasn't let me down yet. The sturgeon will be jumping in the boat!:sHa_shakeshout:

I feel sorry for ya, Steven.:(
You have to fish out in the wilderness, where it's all peaceful & quiet & beautiful. You don't get that "livin'-on-the-edge" feeling of never knowing when a tractor trailer could drive off the side of a bridge & land on yer head...:)

NO-NO-NO-NO-NO!!!:snapoutofit:
That's not how it works, Wayne.
Two red Rapala hats cancel each other out; that's why there were no big trout caught today until Robert went home.
Besides, you don't need no stinkin' lucky hat; I'm your good luck charm!:)
I, on the other hand, can use all the luck I can conjure up...:sign0111:

Don't feel too bad, the probabilities arn't too low that one of these days I'll see just how much of a fight you can put up against a grizz with a 4/5 wt. If I'm lucky I'll get him in the eye and he'll blink once or twice...

What are they earthworms?

I believe they are. I think there are some aquatic worms that are similar to these, as well???
This fish was caught just below where a creek enters the Bow, a couple days after we had some rain. Maybe the browns were stacked in there for the opportunistic earthworm buffet???

This was just below that creek where we fished, Dace; never caught that many big browns there before. It was pretty sweet!:)
