I have used many different bows and al the big names make great bows.

It comes down to personal preference. Hoyt would not be in business for as long as it has been if they made junk.

Love my Hoyt.....

One of the quietest bows I shot when I purchased it.....and I shot a bunch of them......

Much like shouldering rifles....it just felt right in my hands.....

Best bows around.

The list is long but two things are for certain...
1: HOYTS ARE THE BEST
2: MATHEWS ARE FOR WOMEN AND PEOPLE WHO RIDE THE SHORT BUS.

People that bash other brands usually have to compensate for something!

I too have a power tech and love it. Like ABwhitetail said, it just felt right in my hands. I'd reccomend a Hoyt to anybody. But it boils down to what feels right for you.

I never had a problem with my old hoyt. It was a bit heavy but it was over 10 years old. My new diamond black Ice shoots nice.

Lol, or could just actually be putting something in its rightful place. Don't suppose you drive a ford do ya?;) :D

I just bought a new bow, I tried the Hoyts but found them terribly unbalanced for myself.
So I ended up with a Darton and so far its pretty sweet.

LOL,
Did you get one with a screw in the limb? If not, you should order your replacement limbs now, I heard they are back ordered...

I picked up a used ultratec which was in brand new condition. Fantastic bow. Smooth, quick and quiet.

they are in the top 3 of bow manufacturers imo....so yes...good bows....i'm just shooting one of the other in the top 3 so just teasing you a bit....the katera sounds like one of the better options they've released in the past 5 yrs so probably a good bet....comparing numbers like speed/brace height etc. etc. the mathews dxt appeals to me more but the katera is finally getting close enough to the mathews stuff to get my attention....they will both be sweet shooters i'm sure...try to find a shop where you can shoot them and pick the one that feels best to you

When I bought my bow a few years back I didn't know jack about bows. I went in to Archery lanes and they gentlemen asked me what quality I wanted. I asked for high end. He brought me the best bow from each manufacture.

"Now shoot each of them for the next 1/2 hr or so."

I did. I kept shooting, we kept narrowing bows down.

I shoot a Hoyte Havoctech and I love it. I simply went with what suited me.

Never shot a bow before that day...and was shooting apples at 30yards and pies at 40 yards within a day.

I can't speak for any other bow, but the Hoyte sure works well for me.
