View Full Version : Hike in fishing anyone??

I know someone had just started a thread about where/what lakes... but I have an idea that may be fun, and get a group together.

I would be interested in a group of people who would be interested in doing a few alpine hikes into a few lakes this summer. Would be good to get 3 to 5 people (otherwise smaller bodies of water could feel a lot of pressure) and set off for a few of these less travelled areas.

Any thoughts or ideas would be great. Anyone interested, PM me. Hopefully we can get a few people together and make it a bi-weekly or once a month type of deal.

Depending on what the doc says after my July 3rd MRI I may be able to for July, August, September, and October.

I think that's a great idea, and I'd love to join you. I'm curious what sort of difficulty of hikes you're thinking of. I know there are tons of hikes out there that would kick my ass (especially with my float tube in my backpack). But, if you're thinking easy to moderate hikes, I think that would be a great way to meet a few other AO forum members.

Alright, and like I said, its not a SLIVERS thing, its a group thing. Best bet, get a solid group together, have our summer schedules, and plan a few trips (day hikes are nice, and easy on family life too...) Maybe 1 or 2 over nights depending???

Idea's, thoughts, etc?

I would like to do that marvel lake trip and stay at the cabin if that is possible.

JTS1 was telling me about it and if I am in good enough health I think it would be a good 4-5 day trip if guys would be down for that.

Barnaby for goldens would be another good one. its about a 3 hour hike from what I have been told. Head out early in the morning and come back before dark.

npauls - I like how you are talking. I wont be able to do a multiday, maybe overnights this summer, next year will be different (less expenses :)

Hey Slivers, I would be able to make it for something like that, sounds awesome, need a bit of notice but not much.

What are the odds that Janelle would be joining us?

Rather than make a list, this website seems to have it listed out. Some cool places to head in the park (I'd enjoy doing national park fishing/hikes). Some good brook, cutt, and rainbow fishing. Even a couple lakes with a health bull trout population

Some of us (JTS) are fat boys and can't do terribly hard hikes... so it'll be fat boy friendly :D

Ive been eyeballing a lot of those lakes in outdoor alberta for some time but have a hard time finding anyone crazy enough to hike deep into the wild to fish. That said, I think the fishing in those areas could have some very aggresive bites! :)

Lol!! Try window mountain lake, it only about a half hour hike and is amazing!! Some nice rainbows, easy to fish around most of the lake, would be an easy overnighter or starter lake!!!

guys the PM's are important, as we've made a group. If you are serious about doing a few hike ins, or a few remote rivers, etc this summer, PM Me your email and I'll get you invited as soon as I can :)
