I was thinking of new gimmicks for rod holders afterr seeing some of them posted on here the last while, found some fibreglass poles from a broken tent, picked up some heavy duty screw in u hooks at Home depot, and epoxied them together. figure I can use one if I want to stand the rod up, or 2 and set up the rod horizontal like they do for carp fishing in England and keep the handle out of the mud. C tire has the replacement fibreglass poles, all together with the pole and hook they would work out to about 8 bucks or so each, not a bad deal at all. cant wait to try them out this Tuesday!!! :sHa_shakeshout:

only fishing gear I got today was the u hooks, wandered through WSS too but didnt see what I was looking for. also wanted to pick up a couple 10/22;s but they were sold out. first time Ive ever made it through the door with my wallet intact!!! I think I was in shock from missing most of my hair! :sHa_sarcasticlol:

BBJ....you should weld some rod holders onto your deer hoist and just back up the truck to the water.

I had a couple of sweet rod holders that I welded up.
They were able to hold anything from a spinning setup to a sturgeon rig.
And I would love to be able to show off the design.
Your gear never touches the dirt. Everything stays approx. 3 1/2 feet off the mud.
I had two of these holders stashed up the bank from one of my favorite holes on the NSR.
And someone managed to find them and take them.

Oh well. Such is life.
