Hey guys, does anyone know if this gentleman still makes the Game Getters ? A friend of mine who has a couple told me he bought them a couple years ago & the guy making them was a older guy.

I sent an email a couple weeks ago but haven't gotten a reply yet.

Does anyone know of another brand or someone who makes similar for .308 or 45-70 ? (Or want to sell theirs ?).

I got one quite a while ago. He was at a gun show in Dawson Creek. The fellow was from the Edmonton area so maybe someplace like Wholesale sports in Edmonton might be able to point you in the right direction.

Saw him yesterday, at the Red Deer Show. :D I don't think he misses very many.

I know it may be a stupid question but consider the source .. What is a game getter ?:thinking-006:

It is a neat little gadget that is made to shoot a lead ball from your rifle for small game. It is 2 pieces screws together....in the middle is a "hilti" blank that is used to fire the lead ball. Do a google search and you will likely find a picture. I have them for a few different calibers.

Basically you can go out hunting with your .300WMag and if you see a grouse load the game getter (same dimensions as a .300WMag round) and pop it...don't have to carry a .22 or shotgun....

Those things work very well indeed! I've got one for my 7MM and it's darned accurate, quiet as a churchmouse, and deadly on grouse.

I have one for my 25-06 and love it. I also have one for my 7mm but have been having a hard time trying to find the correct buckshot for it, does anyone know where to get #1 buckshot?

I have a box full of Hornady #2 (0.270), I think I picked it up @ WSS back in the day....lifetime supply there.

There are some places that actually sell #1 1/2 buckshot that measures 0.290and #2 1/2 buckshot that measures 0.260

If you get #3 that is 0.250 and it might be just right for the 25-06...without having to shape it.

Anyone here ever shoot an original Hammond Game Getter. There was one in my family for years but ended up stolen.

I gotta revise that. Marbles game getter. It was a double barrel pistol with a 44 on the
bottom and a 22 on top but we always shot .410 out of it.
