Crawling Valley access

I'm thinking of getting out of the mountains and into some slough sharks this month. I googled Crawling Valley but the map only takes me to access on the East side of the lake.

Is there a recommended West side access? (taking the canoe into the shallows) and maybe wading with the fly rod.

To get on the west side one way is to take what many of us refer to the red rock road. Instead of taking the right turn towards CVR at the T intersection just off the #1 hwy turn left. Follow the road down until you see a big red boulder on the right side of the road. You will see some power lines towards there as well. Take a right turn at the red rock road and go past the gas plant and watch for a cattle guard with a lot of wellhead signs at the entrance on the right. Follow to thru to the right and from there you will find many gravel paths down to the lake.
