Just wondering how Athabasca Lake is melting, heading that way soon, just want to know if the lakes are gong to have open water any time soon, for early Lake trout fishing

Call F&W up there. Use the RITE number 310-0000..ask for SRD in Fort Chip

Hey there Nimrod, that's a trip I have made several times. The lake trout fishing is incredible, but if you are boating from Fort Mac you must try the pike fishing in the delta area for huge pike at ice-off. There are a few choice locations I would be willing to share. Same goes for the trout, pm me for more info if you want it. Be sure to take a lot of pics and share them with us here at AO.
