Just was bugger. But not wondering what patterns are working this early for flies in terms of fishing the trout ponds/lakes/rivers. I have only had success on a small back-swimmer pattern as well as a wolly bugger. Not much success... The trout aren't taking my chronimids or dries or nothing really. So just wondering if there are any killer patterns that have been working for you so far? Thanx

Maroon micro leech, catatonic leech.

Both easy ties. Look them up on google and you will find the recipe.

Cheers.

For stillwaters: dragon & damsel nymphs, chironomid larva & pupa and small balanced leech patterns. Fish shallow and keep it very slow or even catatonic.

that is a cool looking worm dace, how do you tie it?

Stillwaters right now, leeches, small damsels, chironomids pupae/larvae, some boatmen activity.

Streams BWO Dry/wet, stonefly nymphs, worms, leeches. EDIT: Caddis start kicking around about now on the bow.

Great Thread!
I have had succes with chronimids and red wire worm. Still waters depth is key to get the rig into the bottom feeding zone, experiment with the depth/retreive and repeat!
