As the post says I have some friends here from Ukraine and they want to go fishing. So what do we have to do? Obviously get a fishing license but what license? Do they have to have a win card? What are the steps to take? Just want to get this started for them so they can go out this summer.

If they're from the motherland, I'll take them out and provide for everything. Let me know.

They are straight from Ukraine, they are working on a farm of my friends here near fort Saskatchewan for a year. They really enjoy fishing but apparently back home it is very expensive to go fishing. You have to pay at every different lake you go to. they are gonna be here for a year, they have been here since february. I just told them I would look into it for them and try to help them out.

Ukrainians working on a farm in northern Alberta, I don't believe you. Haha JK that's very nice of you to take them, that's something all of you will never forget.
Good luck out there

You have to get a win card for them and then licenses im pretty sure its more expensive for non residents but yeah you should be able to do it online of go to the fishin hole if you live by one. Hope this helps.

Glad to see a useful response. Jokes and kids are pretty hard to detect over the keyboard; it'll take some time for people to know who you are and when you are kidding.

Thanks for the response everybody. I know I could google it up but why not ask a bunch of experienced outdoorsmen. That is what this forums about. I try to give positive feedback when a question is asked around here, I love hunting and fishing so why not talk to people that love the same thing!

Hopefully I can get them rolling and they can have some fun while they are here in Alberta.

Good luck out there everybody!
