What a great way to start the morning on the nsr. A buddy and me decided to go fish places we haven't been yet. We both just chucked out some bait at the start and 3-4 minutes later my buddy catches and lands his first walleye of the year so that was pretty great! a few minutes later I was a few feet away from my rod putting in my rod holder(I had just leaned my rod against a stick in the ground) and just wham! my line gets hit hard and rod bends into a U. I have to thank for friend for stopping my fishing rod for being taking into the water! As soon as I felt the fish on the end of my line I knew it was a good one, it was just tearing line off my reel like nothing I've felt before the fight was on. I really have no idea how long it took to get to shore, I was just filled with loads of adrenaline. I really have to thank my friend again here as the fish broke the line right at the shore and he jumped to his knees in the water and stopped the fish from getting away(THANKS DUDE!). I'm glad he was wearing his waders!

Oh ya fish was 36 inches, right on the dot.

Anyways can't believe I just wrote all that haha. here is a picture.

Sweet catch buddy. I know that feeling when you got something special on your line. On my picture holding my pike a buddy of mine scooped it with his bare hands as well from a canoe. He's my best friend too.

Hey crosbyfan, this is the second thread I've seen today where you've posted negative, childish remarks. Time to grow up buddy. :snapoutofit:

Haha jus instinct I suppose, although I'm sure he would have done the same if I were the one catchin the beast. Even tho we fish and land fish regularily, its always nice to have help with the big ones..ill take the cold ones tho :P

Nice Jake! i did the same for my buddy for a big Bull Trout around 15 pounds on 6lb line, as soon as he tried to land it his line broke, he swam right towards me and i scooped him up!...lol

Hate to be negative, but I really don't believe that it's a 3 foot pike in that picture; looks like it's about 36" to me...

Not to be negative, but 36 inches is 3 feet...12 inches per foot....I measured it and if you want to be precise he was actually 36 1/4 inches.I hope you don't do any carpentry with you're knowledge of measurments..:scared0018::confused:

If you look at his post he started it with a winking smily face.....he was joking. I don't think in the three years I have been on the forum that he has flamed anybody.

Ya didn't notice that at first. Ya was weird cuz I always see helpful posts from him. Hence the confusion, I guess its just a difference in sense of humor. Thanks for the clarity.

Ps. Sorry if I attacked bobolaw carpentry skills. I'm sure he is very skilled at readin a tape measure, I guess I'm a little to literal sometimes when interpretting text.:mad0030::bad_boys_20:
