I usually set my indicator about 7-8 feet up, then it lets the worm bounce on bottom and i have alot more hits that way.

Yah might have to meet up and do some fishing.

I guess I really need to come down and try the Bow river out the more and more I see it the itchyer my neck gets for going down there to wet a line.I mean I was out at Wabamun this weekend caught some prarie sharks , or pike was fun but them are some good looking fish. and alot less slimyer

Bow fish are really slimy and disgusting. You wouldn't enjoy the trip:

Are you referring to Sundance? I haven't been over in a month. I've heard the perch fishing has slowed down though.
I'm not sure when I'll get to the river next. The kids have plans or me that include the pellet gun and gophers (no fishing rods allowed).

Hahaha i was supposed to deal with some gophers today but farmer wasnt home.
Yeah like you were saying the fishing seems to really slow down there after december, hopefully the tourney(if they have another) will be held earlier in the season.

Have fun blowin some gophers away, make sure you make it out at least a few more times before runoff starts.

Another tourney, another trophy and rod. I like it when my perch fishing is sponsored.

Nice job Lethal. How are the banks right now? Think I might pull the boat out next weekend.

Goldscud, how do you like the Redington reels?

Pipes, I have a couple of Redington AS and RS2 reels that I bought as closeout/discontinued stock. They are nice and smooth with good drags for freshwater. If you wanted a good saltwater reel I would recommend looking at a higher end reel.

There is still 6 or 7 ft of ice on the bank at McKinnon,s according to a picture I saw. You would have to drag your boat up and over that to get to the parking lot.

Pipes i know at Policemans Flats the new boat launch there is clear of ice and ive seen a few guys launch their boats there. But alot of the southern part of the river still has ALOT of ice on it, 7-8' high and goes back to the treeline, there is the odd part of shore that is open here and there but not much.

Thanks guys. I'm itching to get out. Box full of flies I tied all winter just waiting to be lost in some trees.

Gonna have to look at those Redington reels.
