I can't wait to smash the goldeyes around lethbridge with the little fly rod I picked up over the winter.

I think they will put a pretty good bend in that rod.

Yeah, it's gone down some and it's starting to clear up :)

Those look like good-sized goldeye; should be a riot on the fly rod...:sHa_shakeshout:

X2 There are fun to catch on the fly. I use a grasshopper patterns to catch them.

I hear they're a blast on fly gear, though I haven't ventured into fluff-chucking yet so I can't say personally ;)

The one in the second pic was my first goldeye of the season...seemed rather large so I quickly tossed the tape on it...18"

They were surfacing all over the place out there last night. Might have to break out the light gear and head out again tonight after work :)

Which river? I love goldeyes but never fished them with fly rod. What kind of fly should I use? Thanks.

What do you use for fly's this time of year?? Dry's?? I heard later season they work, but went chucking streamers the other day and only things i saw were small black stonefly's around.

Those pics make me itch for catfish fishing in Manitoba! First choice bait for me is steaked up goldeye cutbait.

Congrats on some nice goldies
