I just bought a fly rod and im looking for some help do get a pike on a fly. I would appreciate any help for locations i wouldnt expect a honey hole just somewhere i would be able to cast and catch some fish.

Coal lake early in the season when it opens is good. Pike are right by the shore and you can catch them easily. I am sure there other people on here who would have other places as well.

I forgot to mention perferably close to edmonton.

the nsr contains lots of pike. try big hair wings or clousers. a sink tip and a short 30-50 lb florocarbon leader. I have had big pike part 30. however walleye seem not to shy away like they do with 50.
