Can I use a trolling motor on my 12 foot aluminum in small ponds/lakes like Anderson Dam or DeWitts pond? Thanks

don't know those lakes specifically but around here as long as it's an electric trolling motor go for it.
i wonder when they'll come out with small propane motors like the ice augers.

There are different regulations on different lakes and ponds. Especially on small ponds. Some are no motors at all and some are even no boats.

Somewhere I have a site with all the boating regulations in Alberta. If I find it I will post it up.

In case you did not know ,when they say no gas engines, you have to take it right off your boat, you just can't tilt it back and paddle around ,if you do you will still get a fine .

This is the place to check to see what kind of motor/speed restrictions are on a lake.

http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2008-120/

Type in "Dewitt" at the search box and it comes up with:

"SCHEDULE 2 : WATERS ON WHICH POWER-DRIVEN VESSELS AND VESSELS DRIVEN BY ELECTRICAL PROPULSION ARE PROHIBITED)"

So, no motors, just good old fashioned paddles.

See ya
