Sucker fest 2012

sunday june 2nd 2012 will start off the first season of sucker fest... We are looking to meet up at the dickson trout pond around noon till about 8:00pm. Please bring your own food to eat there are fire pits that can be used. There may be some fees associated with the day use sites but im sure it would only be a few dollars each.. I do need some feed back as to if you guys and gals think these times will work out for you. I also need to know what prizes should be handed out like biggest sucker, smallest sucker,biggest trout or smallest trout im thinking a $5.00 buy in? Pleases respond with any and i do mean any feed back.
And please remember this is for a good cause to help rehabilitate injured birds of prey.and most of all lets go out share some stories and have some fun.

it is at the villege of dickson on the north end of glennifer lake [dickson dam] just to the west of the village.

How far away a drive is dickson from calgary?

about an hour and a half

id say just over an hour maybe 1 hr 15 min. turn off at bowden take the hiway west and follow the sings to dickson.

im in on a sucker match. not saying TOF's directions are wrong, the easy way to find dickson: HWY2 TO HWY 54 west drive to the town of spruce veiw turn left(south)just after the J bar T pub drive 10 odd k. go thru a stop sign(dickson village) then drive 5k thru a set of twists in the road, take the left as you come to the end of the tarmac. drive 1 k the pond is on your right down the slight hill. one question TOF if you have prizes for game fish do you not need a derby ticket? with that all fish must be released.

please dont think iam being critical. I think you have a great idea, for a good cause. I am stoked at the prospect of of a get together and a match style fish off.

We might be able to make it, I'll have to convince the other half. Never caught a sucker though... *lol* who's gonna teach us? Are you volunteering to cart the suckers to the Med Wild Rehab?

You are right on that one. I've been suckered into a wedding for that weekend. Almost forgot. *lol* I'll just have to learn sucker fishing some other time.
