bear bait question

hey everyone been baiting bears a couple years now and kinda new to it but noticed a video on youtube were a guy hangs a beaver in a tree with a 5 gallon bucket over it......... just curious... is it to make the bears work a little harder for it? or is it more for a scent lure??? or both? please explain thanks and does anybody in the whitecourt area have a couple 45 gallon barrels kicking around they want to get rid of?:thinking-006:

Look on Kijiji, there are a few people selling barrels that are clean already for $15-$20 per barrel.
