Ram Mount Size

I want to mount my 5" Lowrance Mark 5 sonar with a Ram mount but can't decide between the 1.5" standard or the 1" micro ball mount. I'm thinking since a 5" screen is pretty small compared to some of the units out there that I can probably get away with the micro. Any thoughts?
