What are people using for pike leaders? I bought 1 that had the snap swivel and crimp sleeve and its worked great but I can't find them anymore... How are you all tieing the leader to the fly?

the way i have been doing it for the past few years
i get a nice 30lbs taperd leader cut the first 2 to 3 ft off then add 2 ft of 15lb nylon steel braid and attach a snap swivel to the end -you can find small ones at most fishing shops
this year i am going to try the cortland steel braid that they say you can just tie your hooks on

I use low stretch 30-40lb test salt-water mono material as a leader.....I tie the fly to the mono using a clinch or a loop knot. Has worked for many many year this way.

I nail knot a 3-4 foot legth of the same mono to my fly line, then make a loop and loop connect the leader to that chucnk of mono, then to the fly.

cortland makes a tieable wire leader material called Toothy Critters. I think TFH carries them.

I used the cortland tie - able stuff in Belize for Barracuda. It ties great, I used a loop knot on big streamer flies with no problem .

get the titanium leader (comes with snap swivel and a barrel swivel), FH has it $6 each. It's light enough to cast.

yep they all work good but the big thing is you want your set up as light as you can get it so that it is easer to chuck them big flys

I use Rio 20lb, 30lb or 40lb Wire Bite pike leader. It is tieable leader that is very flexable. Great for Mr. Pike.

It is great stuff that you can easily tie your big flies to.

I usually only use the 20 or 30. Buy mine at Fishtales.
