The Famous Blue Rapala calls me and says....lets go trophy sucker fishing, be at your place in 15 minutes...click.

Well it beats killing dandelions.

Stop at the gas station for vitals and high tech sucker equipment.

Get to the spot and fish are jumping every where, some are definitly the terget species and they are Big. Anchor and with excitement we cast out the Pro Staff Sucker equipment.

With much sadness i must report all we got was Stupid Pickeral and some baby Muskies.
The quest to catch a trophy sucker continued today with the same stinking result and the Pickeral were even Bigger. This spot sucks!!!!!

found a new rig called a Pickeral rig and its been a hard learning curve getting to know how to use it

pretty sure they are brand new on the market so there isnt alot of expert advice on how to use the rigs. We should have it figured out by the end of the year. We did figure out the sinker goes on the bottom

well after weeding thru way too many big Pickeral, some musky, and 2 shiney atlantic salmon, We found a sucker pattern.

Important things we have learned

Park the big Lund
They dont eat cranks
Their teeth are invisble or really deep
They dont bleed , even if your hooks are sharp.

More updates to come, but we discovered a spot where they are so thick the water is boiling with them

The "musky" your catching are actually called "pickeral / Chain pickeral" and the "pickeral" you are catching are "Walleye". There does seem to be some confusion that has been passed down from the previous generations that involves calling Walleye- Pickeral but none the less they are two entirely different species of fish and look nothing a like. I hope this has cleared up the confusion.

Purdy sure the spiney backed ones were Pickeral. I sapost i could be wong but the guy in the next boat yelled out holy f*** nice Pickerals you guys are catching,
Im purdy sure those guys knew whaqt they were talking about they were in a Crestliner and anyone in a Crestliner is a pro.

Well after 2 days of hauling in Pickeral we got bored and went after Suckers and Ling.

Got a late start due to the fact Big Mike needed to be bailed out of jail, thats another story for the general section.

Went to a lake close to home where we might catch the triple header crown, sucker, ling and the elusiver whitefish

Day started out great, Horsetrader was smacking suckers like it salmon season on the Fraz. Mike was taking wild stabs at every fish hoping to brain them all.
http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r574/livetarget/IMG-20120521-00114.jpg

Then the ling and whites atarted to bite, Mike deleted all the pics, insisted no pics of him will ever be shown of him with those species.

Then we changed hooks and started catching what looks like a arctic char/brookie cross. Must be escapees from that elbow river fish farm

its possible...I once hooked a laker and while I was bringing it in, it was eaten by a char...which was then eaten by a snakehead.

You know what I hooked that laker on? A jig tipped with a snakehead egg...food for thought.

having issues with pb,,pics will have to wait
Got off to a late start yesterday. Mikeo had to see his probation officer. Then anthony5 got Willywonka and Minniwonka mixed up.
5 hours later we are off to slay trophy suckers. Anthony5 brought 4 pounds of dewwies with him which we needed to use up before the park entrance. Hit a small trout pond, caught alot of small shiney fish, later we figured out they were kokanee, got 4 bigger atlantic salmon and yes we pounded small suckers.
got to willywonka and nothing but more arctic char.

it's anthony5's opimion that prarie suckers are bigger than mountain suckers. He then went on to explain in depth how at the T and C hotel in forrest lawn, that the prairie suckers have more suction. No pics of BiG mike with a sucker again, he screams like Trevor at the site of those rubber lips

The quest continues As we head back to the Pickeral spot soon

make sure you get his car keys before you drop him in the lake. and his garage keys, you could sell his frog collection and make a fortune! if you end up sleeping in the vehicle with him, be careful, I hear he likes to cuddle :scared0018:

dibs on half of his frogs. you can have that irritating damn rubber singing bass though, Id like to take the inventor coyote hunting, if you know what I mean. better take some extra locks for the connecting door, I hear cuddlers can be stubborn people. and if the fishing sucks and he invites you over to watch Deliverance, might want to cut and run! :scared0015:

Well Kim came to visit Mikeo, Stupid Mikeo was a bad boy last night and couldnt have visitors again. Mikeo will never be released...lol...Idiot!!!

Well Horse and me went for fish instead. Horse wanted to buy bait, convinced him the new cranks are even better than the natural stuff. He made threats if my technique failed, told him i dont like sea mammals or flying cows.

To furthur my point of this cranks effectiveness he even used a steel leader and huge swivel...gawd it was a terrifying set up. No wonder he even caught a ling, lol.

Either way a great day with a good buddy. Sorry you missed it Mike. Try stay out of trouble and get released for next week end.

Lots of fish, lost count. Pics of bloody fish and fish with tears in their eyes are not posted

this is my second year with this crank and its proven itself as a better runner in every situation...without exception it the best crank in 10 years.

I therefore have trays of other sticks and bananas that i dont need, wide variety. apprx ( 250)

If there is anyone , like a young person on a limited income who could use some let me know. Taildancers, long casts, reefs, wiggle warts etc etc.....let me know. I will split them up and send them out
